Hi Dana,
I have a Paragon Firefly kiln, which I love. It's a little thing, measuring 8" x 8" x 4.5", which is perfect for firing pendants and beads. You might want to go larger, though, if you think you might expand into larger work. I have been able to fire small bowls and mugs in mine, but there isn't much head room for taller pieces. Beads of Clay recently had a series on their blog discussing the different small kilns that are available to us; I highly recommend checking it out: http://beads-of-clay.blogspot.com.

Good luck!

Hi Dorothy. Your work is lovely! I just started working with clay and have fallen in love with it.

I am researching kilns as I need my own (currently my instructor is firing my pieces for me) and I am confused about what size I need. I am making pendants, charms, and small stoneware/earthenware ring holders. What size/model do you recommend? I'd appreciate any info you can give me.

Thanks,

Dana
