If it’s not one thing, it’s another. I think the computers of the world have conspired against me to make every stinkin’ thing I try to do totally impossible. So I’m going to keep it short and just post some earrings I finished today. Maybe. Suddenly I’m having an awful time trying to get pictures uploaded to this blog. I know I have to update WordPress to the latest version, but quite frankly, I had such a hard time getting the other blog up and running, I almost want to limp along with this version. Almost.
Finished these earrings today, during the “Battle of the PC.” Lucite with Sterling Silver. Fun!
Got a new book today about Ceramic Beads by Jennifer Heynen of Jangles. I’ve been looking forward to this since I pre-ordered it in March. I’ll be reviewing it in a couple of days, but judging by my initial browse, two thumbs up!
Just a little teaser…this necklace will be posted on etsy tomorrow. Rose quartz, cultured pearls, cloisonne and Swarovski beads, and sterling silver wire.
Just a quick post today. “The Boy” is up from his nap…
Since I sold my last pair of earrings with the etsy theme “Flowers for Mom” I decided to put another pair up, even though the sale will only last till this saturday. Here are my cherry blossom earrings, regularly $24, but on sale this week for $18. They are made from lucite and sterling silver.

Well, I was going to post these new earrings that I made yesterday here with a link to them at etsy, but when I got up this morning, they had already sold! I guess it was worth battling the computer to get the images up. My first sale on etsy (that seemed to take forever….). Here’s a picture of them, anyway. I’ll be making more, probably with different colored centers….
These will be appearing in my etsy shop shortly (I do wish Etsy had some sort of turbo lister like ebay, so most of the same settings could be saved. Uploading to the shop takes a while:
Vintage German plastic earrings, sterling silver earwires and beads.
Vintage lucite beads, sterling silver earwires.
Cultured Pearls (yes, they are real, and they are BIG! 11mm), Swarovski Crystals, Sterling Silver beads and earring posts.
Rose Quartz, Swarovski Crystals, Sterling Silver beads and earwires
Millefiori beads, Swarovski Crystals, vintage lucite drops, sterling silver chain and earwires
Told you I’ve been busy. Necklaces coming soon.

I received some new lucite beads for my stash. Don’t these look like they belong in a candy store?
I’ve had a few productive days of jewelry making. I’ve been making pieces at night while watching tv, after rugraticus goes to bed. Since both the Red Sox and the Celtics have been playing, I’ve been able to get a lot done. I need to edit some pictures (and take others), but stay tuned….

My sister gave me a small stash of lampwork beads, with only a request to make a bracelet and a pair of earrings out of particular beads. I used some glass beads and pearls that I had in my stash, as well, and the clasp is handmade as well. I do have the earrings done, but I need to figure something else out for getting pictures of them–they’re so round that laying them flat makes them look awful. Kind of a fun project with beads that I probably wouldn’t use otherwise.
I’ve been having a HORRIBLE time trying to get the website up for The Old Mill Store. I’ve been back and forth with my host trying to get the blog up and running. Supposedly it was one-click installation, but this is the second time it’s failed. Ever see a computer fly??? Then, as I was trying to write this post, I had issues with my password here. Grr..
On a happy note, I made a bunch of ceramic beads today. They are drying as I type. I can’t wait to glaze them.
Well, it’s finally spring and tax season is over. I kinda feel like a kid on the first day of summer vacation. I was looking for a blog theme for The Old Mill Store and came across this theme. Isn’t it pretty?
Anyway, I should have some more jewelry pieces up soon. I need to haul out the junk in the back room of my shop so the tax office can move back up to this building, so the fun stuff will have to wait for at least a little while. I do have some bisque and greenware pendants that are just about ready to fire. Now that the snow has finally melted away from the garage, I can access the kiln again. I treated myself to some new tools over tax season, so I’ll get to experiment with those soon. I’d like to hand-sculpt some spring pendants and make latex molds for them, so I think that’s my next project. I actually have next monday and tuesday off (I’ve been working 6 day weeks since Jan 28), so hopefully Rugraticus will cooperate with me and I can get some stuff done. Speaking of getting stuff done, I’ve got to get back there and start packing…Thanks for checking in….
