January Floorcloth Class at The Old Mill Store

I’m planning on breaking up my next floorcloth design class into two weeks.  The next date will be January 19, with the follow-up class on January 26.  Both sessions of the class will be held from Noon-4 pm.  I found that many students take more than one session to finish their floorcloth, so to relieve the pressure of finishing in one day, I’ve broken the class up.   The cost of the class is now $80, which includes all materials.   The next class won’t be held again until May, so reserve your spot early.

Here are some examples of my students’ floorcloths, in various states on completion.   Each student chose their design.  The floorcloth with the sheep is from a book (which I don’t have in front of me right now, but I’ll be sure to add the designer’s name to the post soon).

falltablerunner.jpgI have two classes coming up.  The first is for a reversible painted table runner on canvas, just in time for Thanksgiving.  It is $40, which includes all materials.   Later I will be offering a class with a Christmas/Winter design on the reverse side.

The second class is for this Folk Art Barrel Stave.  I’m holding this class on December 1 from 12-4.  Cost for this class is $35, including all materials.

Both classes will be held at The Old Mill Store, 11 Wells Street, North Berwick.  Pre-registration is required, as class size is limited.  For more information,  or to register, call 207-676-4433.

but there is still space available in the class on October 13.   I decided to limit the class to 2 students at a time, so that I can aid in the design process.  As always, if you’re interested in taking this class but can’t make it on the 13th, give me a call at the shop and we can set up an appointment.  207-676-4433

I still have one space available in my afternoon drawing class.  I also have 2 spaces available in my Saturday floorcloth class.  If my class dates don’t work for you, I can always arrange for a different time with you.  One group has requested to take the floorcloth class in the afternoons, so we are breaking it up into a couple of classes.  And as always, I’m also available for private lessons.  Give me a call at the shop 207-676-4433, or email me at oldmillstore@verizon.net.

After School Drawing Classes

Beginning September 12, I’ll be giving drawing classes for kids ages 8 and up.  I’ll be teaching the basics of line, value, perspective, proportion,  art vocabulary, and more.  I’ll also be integrating some art history as it pertains to the day’s lesson.  Class will be held from 3:30 to 5:00 on Wednesdays; each session costs $20.00.  Maximum class size is 4, so sign up early.   I loved my art lessons I took as a child, and I hope to pass my love for art onto the next generation.  For more information on the benefits of art lessons, visit http://www.naea-reston.org/tenlessons.html .   Pre-registration is required for my classes.  Call me at The Old Mill Store, 1-207-676-4433.

Floorcloth classes

Right now I’m offering my next design-your-own floorcloth class, which has garnered a lot of interest.  I’m shooting for either September 15 or September 29 for the next class, and then probably another one in October.  I’ve had a lot of people asking about it, and my classroom is small, so if you’re interested you should register soon.  I’ll be firming up dates within the next couple of days.  The first class went well, although the class wasn’t long enough.  I think that the next class will either be held all day, or I will break it into two classes (it all depends on the childcare situation).  Because of the size of the floorcloths and the nature of the class (a lot of one-on-one instruction), I have to limit the class size to 3.  If you have a friend who you would like to take the class with, just contact me and we can schedule a time.   I’ll be able to fit more people for other decorative painting classes I plan to offer.  I’ve got some class ideas rattling around in my head now, so stay tuned for details.
