I was digging through one of my many button jars and discovered these coppery buttons, which matched the glaze on this new pendant design. I also have a large ball of ribbon that I picked up at a thrift shop that is varigated with fall colors and is slightly metallic. Yummy!
I originally intended to use the pinwheels for rings, but then I was playing around with brass blanks and epoxy and ended up with these earrings. I think I have some small leaves that will “suffer” a similar fate….
Both are available in my Etsy shop.
My shop turned one year old yesterday. Whoopee! To celebrate, from now till 9/30 I’m having a BOGO half off sale, no codes, no strings.
Here are a few things I listed today:
Whoo Hoo…
Sorry, a little sidetrack from the Cars.
Where have you been, Dot? Well, let me tell you, I had the new computer for about a month when I got the dreaded Blue Screen. Huh. A Vista issue (I know, huge surprise, right). Then I found out that the warranty I bought only covered the hardware, so for just $230 Dell would assist me in getting the computer up and running. Sphincter says what?
After my head spun around for about 30 minutes, I discovered my XP disk. Reloaded it, and away we go. Had to take it to the local tech guy just to make sure I had all the right drivers, but for $90 instead. Dude, next time I’m not getting a Dell.
I’ll be adding these pieces to my Etsy Shop this week. This orange glaze is somewhat finicky, but when it does come out it’s neon! Not for the weak of heart.
This week I’ll be glazing a number of flat pieces for my decals. A local tack shop (for horses) is interested in carrying some of my work on consignment. I also headed down to Bomar Hall in Wells. There was a bassinet filled with old buttons. I picked out a small selection of buttons to go with my fall glazes and new fall czech glass stash, so hopefully I’ll get a few simple finished pieces in the shop soon.
After messing around with another WordPress theme and having some major issues with formatting, I found this new theme and just tinkered with the banner. Minimal effort, which is what I like.
Until we meet again!

Fall Kiln Load
It was very strange looking into the kiln this morning and seeing these colors. I guess I’ve been making a lot of pinks and blues, because I wasn’t even sure this was my kiln (kidding!).
I’m very fortunate that this load came out with only a few pieces that need to be refired (including a custom ordered piece–why???), considering that my thermocoupler seems to have bit the bed (not to point fingers, but hubby put some stuff right near the kiln and the wire somehow got pulled out of the little hole…). AND the only cones I have left till next Tuesday are 07 and 04. Since the 07 turned into a puddle and the 04 was still upright, I think I did OK, but I like to be a little more exact than that.
I’ve added a couple of leaves that can be used as focal clasps. There are more to come, but I needed to get the firing done yesterday. Plenty more bisque to glaze absent-mindedly while watching a movie.
Since my camera has about another minute of juice left, I won’t get any of these posted in my shop today, but soon….
